Secrets of the depths of the Carpathians: Lake Rosokhan

Its surface is like a mirror, reflecting the blue sky and vegetation around the perimeter of the lake down to the smallest detail.

Lake Rosokhan, its parameters

The total area of the reservoir is 500 m²;
The depth of the lake, in the dry season, is about 2.8 m, in the rainy season it can reach up to 4.5 m;
The length is 50-70 meters, a width of almost 20 m;
Given the natural location of the lake (1,120 meters above sea level), the water temperature does not exceed 15 degrees even in summer. Therefore, only walruses or daredevils can feel quite comfortable in the lake.
Regarding the occurrence of the reservoir there is no unequivocal opinion. Some believe that it appeared after a landslide, others believe that the lake arose as a result of a meteorite fall.

How to get to the lake Rosokhan?

The road to the lake is quite complicated, so be prepared for difficulties and forget about the fast, comfortable tourist route. But, the end result is worth it.
At the first stages, you can drive by car, then - only on foot you need to overcome all the charms of the Gorgan forest. It is better to go on a trip only accompanied by a local guide.

The starting point is the village of Myslovka. You can get to it from Ivano-Frankivsk like a regular bus, which keeps its course to Khust or Uzhgorod.
If your journey begins from Kiev or Lviv, then focus on the Valley, Khust may also approach, then make a transfer to any minibus directly to the village of Myslovka. This tourist route takes several days of travel. If in a kilometer, then from the lake to the village is almost 28 kilometers.
