Each corner of Ukraine is unique in its kind, has its own history, culture, tradition, a landmark that is known even outside of our country.
A striking example of this is the salt lake and the mines in Solotvyno, which are visited annually by thousands of tourists who want to improve their health and relax from everyday bustle.
This small wellness town is located at the border between Ukraine and Romania.
Therefore, everyone can visit the Ukrainian dead lake without leaving our country. In the western part of Solotvyno there is the salt lake Kunigunda, which in the process of subsidence subsided slightly.
But, despite everything, people continue to visit the lake with a view to improve their health.
Its horn has a beneficial effect on the nervous system, stabilizes the work of the musculoskeletal system, and it also helps remarkably in almost all known skin diseases.
Thanks to the popularity of the local natural healer, very close to the shoaling lake Kunigunda, a fairly comfortable zone for medical procedures, along the entire perimeter of the newly created artificial reservoir, was built.
As shown by numerous studies, the chemical composition of the water from the local lake is not inferior to the mineral composition of even the most famous Dead Sea in the world.
I would like to note that on the territory of Ukraine there is also its own no worse than “Dead Sea”, it is often called the Lemurian Lake or the Pink Lake.
Based on the results of the chemical analysis, the teaching officially confirmed that in the water of the Lemurian lake the salt composition is 50 grams more than in the Dead Sea (Israel), which is known to the whole world.
This popular landmark of Ukraine is in the Kherson region.

How the dead lake was formed in Solotvyno
In 1902, local authorities made an economically viable decision and opened a new mine for the extraction of white gold – salt. It existed comparatively not for long, since the groundwaters eventually flooded it completely. The surface sank for 20 meters, forming a lake later. Near the shore, a comfortable recreation base was set up, as it was discovered that the water has unique healing properties. The local region became known to the world not only as an industrial region, but also as a magnificent tourist corner of Ukraine.
In 2010, there were recorded some of the strongest gaps in the soil in the territory of the local mines. In the end, this process was repeated throughout the year and by 2011, the level of water in the popular lake has significantly decreased.
According to the latest recorded data, its depth fell by 2 meters, as a result, on the bottom and along the perimeter of the shore, a layer of curative mud rippled.
Today, the dead lake unfortunately is not as big as it once was, but it is still a popular attraction of Solotvyno, which attracts thousands of tourists from all over Ukraine and abroad.
